Inter-Service Family Assistance Committee

The West Virginia National Guard Family Programs office facilitated West Virginia's first Inter-Service Family Assistance Committee (ISFAC) November 27, 2007 at the National Guard Headquarters in Charleston, West Virginia. Major General Allen E. Tackett, The Adjutant General of West Virginia welcomed over 50 participants from all over West Virginia.
The meeting focused on opening lines of communication between the many West Virginia services, governmental support agencies, and community-based organizations; with a goal of timely delivery of support to service members and their families regardless of the military component they serve or where in West Virginia they reside.
A sample of the participating organizations include: West Virginia Council of Churches, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Veteran Affairs, American Red Cross, United Way, Catholic Community Services, Statewide Veteran Centers and Medical Centers just to name a few.
