Prayer for Veterans Day
CARE-NET: Military and Community Working Together
CARE-NET takes this opportunity to offer this prayer on Veterans Day 2009 in honor of our veterans.
"We ask for blessings on all those who have served their country in the armed forces. We ask for healing for veterans who have been wounded, in body and soul, in conflicts around the world.
We pray especially for the young men and women, in the thousands who are coming home from Iraq and/or Afghanistan with injured bodies and traumatized spirits.
Bring solace to them, O, Lord for them who cannot pray.
Have mercy on all veterans from World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan; bring peace to their hearts and peace to the regions they fought in.
Bless all the warriors who served in non-combative roles. May their calling to service continue in many positive ways?
Hear our prayer, O Prince of Peace, hear our prayer."
