Asst. Secretary Duckworth to Keynote a Conference for Veterans and Military Families

Washington, D.C.—Senator John D. (Jay) Rockefeller IV announced that Tammy Duckworth, the Department of Veterans Affairs Assistant Secretary for Public and Intergovernmental Affairs, will be coming to West Virginia to participate in an event for veterans and military families on August 10, 2009.

“I am pleased and honored that Assistant Secretary Tammy Duckworth will be coming to West Virginia to have a chance to connect with our veterans and military families,” said Senator Rockefeller, one of the longest serving Senators on the Senate Veterans Committee. “Ms. Duckworth is an outstanding example of serving our country with valor and then dedicating her time and life to public service, and I look forward to hosting her in West Virginia this August.”

Assistant Secretary Duckworth will be the keynote speaker for CARE-NET’s annual conference for veterans and military families in Charleston on August 10, 2009. Exact details are still being determined and will be made public when available.
